CHEOPS

a point source (so-called PSF) has been determined over the full CHEOPS field of view

February 27th, 2018

This week the image of a point source (so-called PSF) has been determined over the full CHEOPS field of view. The telescope is defocussed on purpose to spread the light of one star over many pixels.
The image consists of many measurements taken at one single wavelength in the optical spectrum (at 650 nm). All images have been summed up to obtain this figure showing the PSF over the entire detector. No special data processing has been done except adding all the different locations. The image shows the full detector including covered portions (e.g. left and right darks and bias columns).
